What is the difference between bakuchiol and Bidens pilosa?
Two different plants, and a significant difference in research. For bakuchiol, there is an independent randomized study from 2019 in the British Journal of Dermatology, with 44 participants over twelve weeks. There is no such study for Bidens pilosa; that ingredient is newer and less researched. That is why we mention that study for this product and not for the other three.
What were the specific results of that study?
Two things. Both groups saw improvement in fine lines, the bakuchiol group and the retinol group. And regarding tolerability, the bakuchiol group reported significantly less flaking and stinging at every measurement point. There are also limitations: the bakuchiol group applied it twice a day and the retinol group once, and there was no group that only used the base cream. We therefore do not claim that bakuchiol does the same thing as retinol.
Why do you recommend using it in the evening?
Because it is an oil. An oil can leave a slight shine, and at night it has plenty of time to absorb. That is the only reason. If you want to use it during the day, you can; just follow up with your SPF as you always would.
What is the difference between this and your other serums?
This is 100 percent oil; the others are water-based. An oil serum nourishes more deeply and feels richer, while a water-based serum is lighter and contains more hyaluronic acid. For the best result, use something water-based first and then this oil as a finishing step.
Does this product contain allergens?
It is nut-free. However, it does contain rosehip oil (Rosa Canina), which is related to stone fruits such as apricot and peach. If you have a known stone fruit allergy, seek advice first or test it on the inside of your arm for 24 hours. The formula also contains natural essential oils, so for those who react strongly to fragrance, the Sensitive Overnight Cream is a better alternative.
Is this also suitable for men?
Certainly. The texture and formula are not tied to skin type or gender. Three drops in the evening as a single evening step is enough for many men, without needing an additional cream.
Is that a natural scent?
