What makes this face oil different from other oils?
This blend combines 9 organic plant oils in one formula, with 62% organic origin. This is exceptionally high for a commercially available product. Furthermore, this product is COSMOS Organic certified by ECOCERT, one of the strictest certifications in natural cosmetics. Many "natural" oils on the market are only Natural certified or not certified at all.
How many drops should I use?
For the face, 2 to 4 drops are sufficient. For the neck and décolletage together, 4 to 6 drops. Adjust based on your skin type and the season. In winter, skin often needs more nourishment than in summer.
Can this product be used during the day?
We recommend using this product in the evening. The formula contains citrus oils (bergamot, orange, lemon) which can cause pigment spots when combined with UV. If you do want to use it in the morning, always wear SPF.
Is this product suitable for sensitive skin?
No, this product is not recommended for very sensitive or reactive skin. The formula contains fragrance and 9 natural EU allergens. For customers with reactive skin, we recommend our fragrance-free Sensitive Overnight Cream FF, or a rich cream without an oil blend.
Does this product contain nuts?
Yes. This product contains Sweet Almond Oil. Customers with a nut allergy cannot use this product. For a nut-free alternative, we recommend our Hydrating Serum or Peptide Serum as a hydrating alternative.
How long does a bottle last?
With evening use (2 to 4 drops), a 30 ml bottle lasts approximately 2 to 3 months. With less frequent use or smaller doses, this can extend up to 4 months.
Can I also use this as a body oil?
Yes, it is multi-purpose. Besides the face, this product is also suitable for the neck, décolletage, elbows, knees, or other dry areas. Some customers also use it as a hair treatment, 1 to 2 drops in the lengths before washing. However, it is formulated for the face, so for larger areas (whole body) you would use it up too quickly.
Will this make my skin oily or sticky?
No, despite its rich composition, this oil absorbs surprisingly quickly. The combination with lighter coco emollients provides a velvety finish rather than a greasy layer. Excessive use (more than 4 drops) can cause a slight stickiness, so less is more.
Can I combine this with other Mayteo products?
Yes. This oil is intended as a final layer in your routine, after your serum and night cream. It works beautifully with the Peptide Serum, Collagen Boost Serum or Pigment Perfecting Serum. Avoid combining it with other heavy oils in the same routine, as that would be too nourishing for the skin.
What if I don't like citrus scents?
The scent is distinctly mandarin with floral notes. Customers who prefer a neutral scent should choose our Hydrating Serum or a neutral night cream. The scent fades after 15 to 30 minutes on the skin.
