Is CBD in cosmetics legal and safe?
Yes. Cosmetic CBD is completely legal in Belgium, the Netherlands, and most EU countries, provided the product contains no THC (the psychoactive part of cannabis). Our CBD is extracted from industrial hemp extract and contains no THC. The CBD ingredient falls under EU cosmetic regulations and is safe for topical use.
Does this product give a high?
No, absolutely not. CBD has no psychoactive effect. Furthermore, when used topically in cosmetics (on the skin), CBD is not absorbed by the body in a way that would produce any systemic effect. You will only feel the skin-softening and calming effects locally at the application site.
What does CBD do for the skin?
CBD has a clinically researched anti-inflammatory effect, ideal for reactive, stressed, or sensitive skin. It helps with redness, irritation, minor skin irritations, and skin after sun exposure. For oily or acne-prone skin, CBD also has a sebum-regulating effect.
What is the difference with hemp seed oil?
Hemp seed oil is extracted from the seeds of the hemp plant and contains no CBD. It is a nourishing oil rich in omega 3 and 6. CBD is extracted from the flowers and leaves of the hemp plant. These are two different ingredients from the same plant, with different effects. This product contains both for a complete effect.
For which skin types is this oil best?
According to our supplier, for all skin types. In practice, this oil works particularly well for reactive, sensitive, or irritated skin. For distinctly oily or acne-prone skin, we recommend limited use (1 drop or mixed with moisturizer). For dry skin, this is ideal as a final step.
Can I use this during pregnancy?
We advise against using CBD products during pregnancy or breastfeeding as a precaution. There is no scientific evidence of risk with topical use, but as a general rule, health experts recommend avoiding CBD during these periods. For soothing skincare during pregnancy, we recommend our Sensitive Overnight Cream FF.
How many drops should I use?
For the face, 1 to 3 drops are sufficient. Start with 1 drop and build up if necessary. Too much oil will not give more effect; on the contrary, it can leave a greasy film. For the neck and décolletage combined, use 2 to 4 drops.
How long does a 15 ml bottle last?
With daily use (1 to 3 drops), a bottle lasts approximately 2 months. With occasional SOS use for irritation, this can extend to 4 months.
Can I use this after a laser treatment or peel in the salon?
For mild treatments (superficial peel, microdermabrasion), yes, after 24 to 48 hours once the skin has calmed down. For intensive laser treatments, always follow the advice of your dermatologist or treating therapist. CBD has a calming effect but does not replace a specific recovery product.
Does this product contain allergens?
Yes, this oil contains fragrance (from natural essential oils) and three EU allergens: Limonene, Linalool, and Citral. Caution is advised for very reactive skin, although CBD itself has a calming effect. If in doubt, test on a small area first.
