Who is this shampoo for?
For anyone with fine, limp, or lifeless hair that could use more volume. Suitable for all hair types.
What does keratin do in a shampoo?
Keratin is the protein your hair itself is made of. Hydrolyzed keratin attaches to weak spots in the hair, helps protect against breakage, and provides a fuller appearance.
What does "reactivates the scalp" mean?
Caffeine and zinc PCA stimulate the scalp and balance sebum production, the foundation for healthy and full hair.
Why does my scalp tingle slightly after use?
That's the peppermint oil, which provides a fresh, cooling sensation. Completely normal and harmless.
Does the shampoo contain harsh sulfates?
This shampoo does not contain SLS or SLES, the harsh sulfates that give sulfates their bad name. It does contain sodium coco-sulfate, a milder cleanser based on coconut oil. This creates the foam that thoroughly washes fine hair, without drying out the scalp as SLS can. Therefore, we deliberately do not call our shampoo "sulfate-free," as that would not be accurate. However, it is free of SLS and SLES, and that's what matters.
Can I use the shampoo daily?
Yes, the formula is mild enough for daily use.
What is that chanterelle extract?
An extract of the chanterelle mushroom, rich in natural sugars and minerals that nourish hair and scalp. One of nature's more surprising ingredients.
Is the shampoo suitable for a sensitive scalp?
The formula contains peppermint, menthol, and fragrance. For a very sensitive or irritated scalp, we recommend a milder, fragrance-free cleansing product.
Is this shampoo vegan?
No, and we are open about it. The hydrolyzed keratin comes from ethically sourced sheep's wool; the sheep are shorn, not harmed. Our manufacturer has confirmed this to us in writing. A plant-based alternative that does the same as real keratin currently does not exist, and we choose what works over what sounds good on the label. All our other shampoos and the rest of our product range are indeed completely vegan.
Is the shampoo gluten-free and nut-free?
Yes, both. Unlike our other shampoos, this one does not contain wheat protein, so you can use it even with a gluten allergy or nut allergy.
Is that a natural scent?
Yes – at Mayteo, we don't use synthetic fragrances. All our fragrance compositions are 100% vegan and carefully formulated with natural aromatics, without phosphates or other synthetic preservatives.
