Does this product contain alcohol? Won't that be drying?
Yes, this mist contains some alcohol. Alcohol provides a fast-drying, refreshing effect and helps other ingredients penetrate deeper into the skin. For occasional use (refreshment during the day, after exercise), this is not an issue for most skin types. If you have very dry skin or a damaged skin barrier, choose our alcohol-free Hydrating Toner as an alternative.
What are prebiotics and how do they work on the skin?
Prebiotics are nutrients that support the "good" bacteria on your skin. Just like your gut has a microbiome, your skin does too. The sugars in this formula (Rhamnose, Glucose, Glucuronic Acid) and the postbiotic Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate help support the skin's natural balance. Scientific research into topical microbiome products is still early, so see this more as a supplement than a miracle treatment.
Should I use this before or after my moisturizer?
Both are possible. Before your moisturizer: the mist prepares the skin and can help with better absorption of your skincare products. After your moisturizer: for an extra refreshing layer and to finish your routine. It also works great as a refresh throughout the day.
Can I use this over make-up?
Yes. The fine mist is designed to set makeup and refresh your skin without disturbing your look. Hold the bottle at least 20-30 cm from your face for an even spray and don't spray too often — a few spritzes are enough.
Is that a natural scent?
Yes – at Mayteo, we don't use synthetic fragrances. All our fragrance compositions are 100% vegan and carefully formulated with natural aromatics, without phosphates or other synthetic preservatives.
