What are peptides and how do they work?
Peptides are short chains of amino acids, the building blocks of proteins like collagen and elastin. When you apply peptides to the skin, they signal the skin to produce new collagen and elastin. It's like 'waking up' the skin to supply building blocks that it naturally produces less of from the age of 30. Hexapeptide-11 is one of the most well-researched anti-aging peptides.
What percentage of Hexapeptide-11 does this product contain?
This serum contains 2% Hexapeptide-11, a serious clinical concentration. Many competitors claim to use peptides but don't state a percentage, which often means the concentration is minimal. 2% is in line with brands like Medik8 or Obagi, but our formula is 99% natural origin and COSMOS certified.
From what age can I use this serum?
From 30 years old as preventive anti-aging, or from 40 years old for visible results on existing fine lines. For younger skin (under 30), a Hydrating Serum or Vitamin C Serum is often more appropriate, as the skin still produces enough collagen.
What is the difference with retinol?
Retinol accelerates cell renewal and can cause irritation, redness, or UV sensitivity. Peptides signal the skin to produce building blocks, a gentler mechanism without irritation. Peptides are ideal for those just starting with anti-aging, who have sensitive skin, or who cannot tolerate retinol. For those who want a retinol alternative: our Bakuchiol line is a good addition.
What is the difference with your Vitamin C Serum?
Vitamin C provides antioxidant protection and light skin brightening, ideal for mornings. Peptide Serum works on skin firming and reducing fine lines, ideal for evenings. Both products are complementary: many customers use Vitamin C in the morning and Peptide in the evening, or both twice a day for maximum results.
Can I combine this with other active ingredients?
Yes, peptides are very combinable. Works synergistically with Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide, and Bakuchiol. Only avoid using it in the same routine as high concentrations of acids (AHA, BHA), as the skin may react. It is better to use these in separate routines (e.g., acids in the morning, peptides in the evening).
When will I see results?
Hydration and a smoother skin texture are often noticeable after 1 to 2 weeks. For visible results on fine lines and skin firmness: 4 to 8 weeks of consistent use. Peptides work cumulatively; the results become more apparent the longer you use it.
Does this product contain allergens?
Yes, this serum contains fragrance (from natural essential oils) and three EU allergens: Linalool, Geraniol, and Citronellol. For those with very reactive or allergic skin, we recommend our fragrance-free Sensitive Overnight Cream FF. If in doubt, test on a small skin area first.
Can men use this?
Yes, absolutely. The light texture and anti-aging profile are suitable for any face, regardless of gender. Men aged 35 and older often see good results with daily use after shaving.
