How exactly does the oil-to-milk texture work?
The cleanser starts as a rich oil-gel that you apply to dry skin. The oil base dissolves makeup, sebum, and impurities that are not water-soluble—things that water alone cannot remove. When you add water and continue to massage, the oil emulsifies into a silky-smooth milk that rinses off easily. The result is a thorough cleansing without drying out your skin.
Is this really suitable for sensitive skin?
It depends on what "sensitive" means to you. This product is mildly formulated, dermatologically tested, and free of harsh surfactants—suitable for most people with sensitive or thin skin. However, it does contain natural fragrance. For those with a confirmed fragrance allergy, eczema, or rosacea, we recommend our fragrance-free BiPhasic Make-up Remover Fragrance Free. When in doubt: do a patch test on the inside of your arm for 24 hours.
Why does this cleanser contain alcohol?
The alcohol here functions as a natural preservative to keep the product stable for 2 years. Unlike in products where alcohol has a drying effect (toners, anti-acne products), the concentration here is low and balanced with nourishing oils—it does not dry out the skin. This is a common technique in natural cleansers without synthetic preservatives.
Can I use this to remove eye makeup?
Yes, provided you are careful around the eyes. Close your eyes and gently massage onto the eyelids to loosen mascara and eyeshadow. For very stubborn waterproof eye makeup, we first recommend our BiPhasic Make-up Remover—which is specifically developed for the sensitive eye area.
Is this suitable for daily use?
Yes, both morning and evening. For those who do not wear heavy makeup, once a day is sufficient (in the evening). For those who want a distinctly nourishing ritual in the morning, it can also be used in the morning—the skin will feel soft and nourished when you apply your day cream.
